UK’s Birmingham Airport was the first to reveal the spectacular giant Olympic Rings to the visitors arriving at the Birmingham Airport. There are two sets of giant Olympic Rings placed in the Airport. The rings are placed on either side of the new Air Traffic Control Tower of the Birmingham Airport.

Any visitor who flies in will be able to see the rings. The rings will also be visible to people on the main road between Birmingham and Coventry as these are 28 meters high. The rings are internally lit which makes them visible even during night. Every individual ring has a diameter of 2.13m. Every set of five rings is 3.15m by 6.82m in size.

700,000 people out the 1.9 million people who vied for getting the tickets have been successful in getting the tickets, as announced by the Chief Executive of Olympic Organizing Committee (Locog), Paul  Deighton.  The people who failed to get tickets in the first round have something to cheer about, as another round of resale of London Olympics tickets is going to begin on the 24th June at 6am and it is going to last up to 17th July.

2.3 million Tickets are up for grab in this round and one can find many more happy faces. During the initial ten days of this round the second round, which is July up to 6 pm, only people who applied for tickets in the first round but failed to get one would be eligible for all these days.  This is an outcome of widespread confusion and muddling situation, which took place after innumerable people who failed to get tickets in the first round of the ticket sales.

The ballot has been receiving flak from public as well activist demanding for transparency in the administration works.

Things became bad to worse when news leaked in the media that the eldest son of Colonel Gadaffi had been separately allocated numerous Olympic tickets.  This further intensified the anger of the masses regarding the ticket sales process. London 2012: Preparations On Schedule

The most awaited event, London Olympics 2012 will onset from 27th of July 2012 to 12th August 2012.  London Olympics is also followed by Paralympics which is set to be on from 29th August 2012 to 9th September 2012.  The wait for the event has not yet over as there are approximately 14 more months to go.  Preparations are going on in full swing and high gear; it is believed that Prince William and Kate Middleton will be wedded already by the time the London Olympic 2012 event approaches.  This will attract audience’s attraction completely on the games.  It is obvious that along with the entire world even you have your eyes set on the preparation of the event.

British authorities state that the development of London Olympic 2012 venue is in progress and is expected to be completed much before the date of the event.  It is also stated that test events will be conducted to evaluate the appropriateness of the developed stadium.  International Olympic Committee made several trips and during their recent tour to the venue, they were pleased to see the quality and progress of preparation.

During the inspection trip, other venues inspected for London Olympic 2012 includes, Wembley Arena, Hadleigh Farm and Olympic Park Velodrome.  Royal Artillery Barracks and Earls Court are also selected as venues for sessions of London Olympics 2012.  Tennis will be hosted in All England Club which is situated in Wimbledon.  The club has decided to hold the tennis events at SW19 with several modifications done to it; it seems that tennis will be spectacular this time around.

One of the most exciting factors of the event is the London’s Olympic Stadium which is specially designed for the occasion.  It is believed that over $850 million has been spent on preparing the stadium that will host opening ceremony as well as the closing ceremony of the happening along with track and field athletics.  The stadium can accommodate approximately 80,000 spectators and is believed to be ready by 2011summer.

The British track icon Sebastian Coe or also called as Seb Coe is handling the preparation of London Olympic, by acting as the chairman of London Organizing Committee for London 2012 Olympics.  The testing sessions are among the important phases that will help in ensuring that the venues are perfectly suitable for London 2012 Olympic Games.
